Know About The Occupational Health And Safety Code Of The Satellite Phone

According to the Workers and Safety code in The Aussie Outback, all supervisors are required by the law to give helpful communication channels to their workers if they work under conditions that do not allow them to have standard mobile telephone conversation. For most workers, this mainly means the use of satellite phones though the law does not stipulate that the satellite mobile phone as the only way they can substitute regular mobile phone communications. This law is specifically meant to apply to workers under the OHS Act and this excludes people who are employed by the federal government, who work in farms or ranches or those who are self-employed. This is mainly because for self-employed people, they will ensure that they have efficient communication ways because they have to communicate with their suppliers. The code was therefore made to be sure that supervisors do not travel for days without having a ways to communicate with other people.

The civil code was also implemented to be sure that if a supervisor has hired security officers to provide protection services to either the realty or people, they will be well equipped to respond to emergency calls or threats without much of a delay. This not only makes sense but is now a requirement before any employer hires a security guard. All most all employers like better using a sat phone because it is more convenient in case of an emergency and connection will not be deterred by terrestrial connectivity that are mainly used for mobile. Furthermore, these connections are known to broken on some instances and this could be an excellent threat when a security guard cannot answer to the emergency situation simply because they can't communicate or call for help. The occupational health and safety code basically focuses on an employee's security and well being but also doubles up as an added safety measurement for the employer.

According to the code, employers are required to have the efficient communication system particularly when a worker is working alone. The law allows the employer to conduct a accident assessment in order to check the exact communication system. This assessment is only made once and it will only change if the working conditions also change. So, if the assessment shows that using a sat mobile phone is the most suitable connection channel, then this will stay the same except if a more appropriate system comes up with time. The law also does not state that an employer is required to provide satellite phones or any other ways of communication to their workers if they make a daily call-ins at pre-determined intervals to be sure the security of their employees. The call-in intervals will be based on the risk evaluation and will therefore be different for individual work scenarios. This may be at the beginning and end of a shift or every few hours if the working scenario carries more hazards. This constitution works best in far work places where there is a bigger chance of injury and little sources of communication which means that that workers may not be able to call in for assistance in case of an emergency.
