Another version is the CatGenie. Compared with the Litter-Robot, this litter box washes, cleans, and dries its own litter, which is made from biodegradable, washable granules. It works very similarly to a toilet bowl, where at the touch of a button, the waste is simply flushed away, and the granules are washed and dried for the next use. It is a very environment-friendly replacement, although it does use water and electricity regularly.

Other automatic litter boxes are models which automatically scoop the waste into a holder, and minor distinctions of the Litter-Robot and CatGenie concepts. But whichever model is chosen, the main thing to figure out is that cats are inherently spontaneous, and they must be conditioned to use that new litter box for maximum effectiveness. So the best litter box is one that your cat will actually employ. Another thing is that automatic litter boxes are normally a touch more unsuitable for kittens than the manual versions, and so due caution has to be adapted.
