Article Publishing Is A Major Component Of Any Online Marketing Campaign

Most often when I am talking with other marketers and I bring up the subject of article writing, I often get a response like "I'd rather have a brain surgery, I just can't write", or "my spelling is terrible and my grammar is not much better". In my view, the first excuse is just a matter of attitude. The latter excuse falls on deaf ears because most major word processing programs have great spelling and grammar checking abilities..

We're not speaking about something that would qualify for the Pulitzer Prize in literature, just articles dealing with a topic that may be of interest to a group of marketers who also just happen to have mutual interest in your particular business proposition or activity.

Although not as stimulating as the college professor's dilemma of "publish or die", many online marketers have found that the notoriety and traffic that articles will bring to their website is second only in importance to actually making sales.

When writing articles, start by clearly defining what you wish to write about. Focus on the topic and the general message that you wish to communicate. Sometimes you will begin with a title then expand from there, and other times the title may be the last part you develop.

Organize your material (be it knowledge, thoughts, or opinions) into a logical sequence or order. Don't try for the completed product in the first draft. Just allow your mind, and words, to move and get some ink down on paper. This could happen in a single session, for longer articles, it could be done in various rough draft sessions maybe broken into logical parts of what will eventually evolve into your finished article.

Once you've finished the rough draft, it's time to make your changes, smooth the rough edges, and possibly do some juggling in terms of structure. Run your article through the spelling/grammar checking tool of your word processor and make the pertinent adjustments.

Now that the body of text that you have written is "technically clean" from a spelling/grammar standpoint and you have gratified yourself with the organization, its time to address the final styling or polishing to ensure readability (that may or may not be a word, but I'll claim poetic license and go ahead and use it). Read your article out loud to yourself and get a feel for the emphasis or rhythm. The readability of the entire article can be influenced by changing the sequence of words and/or alternating one like-meaning word for another. The supreme goal is to attract readership.

Many entrepreneurs use their articles as a key component in catapulting successful internet marketing careers, creating very substantial incomes. Remember, with regard to writing articles, you're greater than you think you are...it's all about attitude!
